Keg at the taproom, SD, 12/11/14. Black with a moderate tan covering. Nose is earthy roast, cherry skins, dark fruit vibes, light chocolate. Taste comprises, rich chocolate strokes, dark malt, light spice, roasted tones. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok porter.

Draft at the brewery - San Diego. Pours deep brown with a creamy, tan cap. Juicy cherry in the nose with secondary notes of dry chocolate. Light to medium sweet flavor with mellow roast, light bitter chocolate, some juicy cherry and bitter berry pits. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Sweet and well roasted malts to finish, some dry baking cocoa, further baking cocoa, some bitter earth. Not bad. Nicely dynamic.
