On tap at the Alibi Room, pours a dark mahogany with an off-white head. Aroma brings out lots of lacto, tart dark fruits, and some light vinegar. Flavour is bizarre, with lots of wood, moderately tart dark fruits, and a dry sharp finish. Very woody and fairly balanced; not overly complex, but quite interesting. Okay.

Almost clear dark red - amber beer. small pale tan head. Palate is light, crisp and semi dry. A mellow Flemish sourness, not at all acid and none of the red wine kind of tang you might expect. Little caramel underneath. Touch of soy. Light airy finish. Pretty mellow.

Sample at Daily Growler UA. Murky reddish-brown color with a medium thin foamy off-white head that dissipates quickly to a film. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of sour fruits and malt. Light-bodied with flavors of tart fruit, vinegar and earthy malt. The finish is soapy and sour with a fruity aftertaste. Missed the mark, pretty average overall.

Bottle from Total Wine in Folsom, CA. Pours bright copper with a fizzy beige head. Sour aroma. Perhaps a bit sulphury. Med minus body. It’s certainly and sharply sour. There does seem to be a little red berry. It’s certainly sour right to the end. Just a bit lacking in decipherable flavors.

Bottle. Bronze beer with a big dark cream head. Red fruit and tartness lingers. Tart/light sour flavor with light red fruit and backing caramel. Medium bodied. Tartness/light sourness lingers with light earth and light fruitiness.

Bottle. Pours with a clear copper hued body and a large, foamy off-white head with decent lace and retention. Aromas are of strong red currant, lactic acid, lime, leathery, earthy, deep cherry. Huge cassis aroma overall. Lightly nutty. Flavors are tart, lactic, a bit of plastic, a bit vegital, earthy, nutty, copper (pennies). Very tart character. Really thin with lasting vegital notes. No funk at all and that hinders complexity. Very lively combination. Pretty dry. Drinkable, but one dimensional with a few flavors I don’t care for.
