Dark brown with a thick head. Roasty, piney aroma, classic black IPA. Piney, with lots of bitterness and a lot of roast as well. Good, by the numbers example.

Keg at the brewpub, St Georges Day CDA tick, 23/04/14. Black with a moderate tan covering that retains well. Nose is Ribena berries, light roast, cocoa beans, dark berry fruit pang. Taste comprises ligh pine, dark berry fruit, light spice, roasty tones, hint of grapefruit and tropicana. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with subtle hop bitterness. So so to middling CDA - lacks hop presence.
