Cask at the Cock, 19/11/13. Pale golden with a moderate off white head that clears to a swirl. Nose is pale malt, light toasted aroma, light citrics, grass, touch of caramel. Taste comprises light caramel, straw, vanilla notes, toasted malt, fruit tang. Medium bodied, soft to fine carbonation, dry finale. Tasty enough offering but you’re unlikely to recreate the crisp finale this style craves when offering it on cask.

Cask at the Cock Tavern - Hackney, London. Pours lightly hazy yellow-gold with a slight, creamy white head. Pale bread on the nose with hints of corn and hay. Medium sweet flavor with white bread, a bit of plain white sugar, cereal, corn flakes, very slight hay bitterness. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish with doughy biscuits, white bread, some hay, mild cereal. Pretty nice.
