Bottle at Chriso tasting, thanks Chris, 18/11/12. Mahogony brown with a thin tan head that soon clears to the edge. Nose is sweet toffee, sugars, molasses. Tastes as nose, too sweet not enough balance, malt seems lacking for a porter. Toffee, sugars, a little tobacco. Medium bodied, soft carbonation with a roasted sweet finish. Another rare US beer for the ’W’ cupboard!

Bottle at Chriso Tasting, London. Thanks to Chris - my first Troy tick? Pours rich brown iwth a fine, brown cream head. Dark bready malt nose, hints of diacetyl. Light sweet flavor with toasty bread, some toffee, light earth. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Modest dryness to finish with further earth and toast. OK beer.
