Cask at Lych Gate, Wolverhampton. Pours dark ruby with a sizeable foamy beige head and good lacing. The aroma has roast malts, chocolate and raisins. In the mouth it is basically sweet but with a little underlying bitterness and a thick creamy texture. Flavour has malts, traditional hops, toffee, dried fruit and a hint of spice. Finish is dry and fruity. This is quite nice.

11/4/2026. Cask at the Isle of Man CAMRA 13th Beer & Cider Festival. Pours well. Aroma is malty, toffee, biscuit, dried fruits, berries, slightest hint of spice. Medium sweetness, mellow bitterness. Quite full bodied and smooth, with soft carbonation. Very drinkable drop.

Cask at the Wellington; dark brown pour with a bubbly light tan head, aroma has burned malts and chocolate, taste has chocolate, some light fruits, winter cake.

Handpull cask at the Salmon, Leicester. Mid- to dark brown, very translucent with a tiny a mouth of off-white head. Some raisin in the aroma along with some smoky notes. Sweet taste with some waxy bitterness in the finish. Flat body. It's decent enough but not particularly exciting. Nagham referred to it as 'disappointment juice' which is about right.
