Bottle 500ml. [ As Trollbryggeriet Slogen Sunnmørsjul ].Clear medium amber color with a small to average, frothy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, shoe polish, spicy. Flavour is moderate sweet with a average duration, plastic, shoe polish, caramel. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. Bottle,batch 277. Pours clear amber, with a small, fairly quickly dissipating, creamy head. Aroma is roasted malts, with bread, toffee and burned sugar. Medium body, with quite soft carbonation. Flavour is sweet roasted malts, with bread and burned sugar, as well as some phenolic notes of smoke.

Nice creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly fruity, caramel malts, dried fruits, grass, grain, leafs, nuts, weeds, shed, hay, toffee. Taste is slightly harsh grainy, weeds, bark, grain, grass, minerals, roasted nuts, leafs, caramel malts, shed. Medium bitterness, slightly harsh mineraly mouthfeel. Fair enough.

500ml bottle, batch 277, bought at Vinmonopolet Langnes. A ruby shade to a near-clear brownish body. Murky last pour. Tan-coloured head, dissipating. Vague aroma of roasted dark malts. The taste profile has cooked meat upfront with brown and pale malts beneath. Juicy fruits to the ending with noticeable alcohol. Slightly floury palate. Surprisingly thin bodied. Not suitable with the Christmas food (lion rib of pork). Different, but far from successful (Tromsø 21.12.2014).

0.5l bottle from #277. This is a slightly cloudy looking one, brown in color and only a small islandy shattered off-white head on the top. Quite mild nose. Earthy, some nuts, caramel and a nice malt sweetness. A nice bitterness in the taste combined with her the caramel sweetness. Feels light oily in the mouth and it's way below average on the bubbles. Leafy flavors, some mild dry cardboardy yeast. Marzipan and almonds. Dusty spicy tail. Not horrible, but really strange. Not sure what I think of this. Something has to be wrong with this. 15.11.2014

Bottle. An unclear, dark amber to brown beer topped by a minimal sized light beige head. The aroma is bready and spiced, with cloves, cardamom and some generic spiced hints. Hints of chicken farm. It’s quite bitter on the palate, dry and medium bodied, with a soft carbonation. Bready, spiced flavor with caramel and some bitterness. Lasting finish. Balanced spice use in this one, but besides that it’s not very interesting. 141220

Bottle @ fonefan tasting. Hazy brown with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel, dark malts and light spicy. Flavor is quite sweet and light bitter. Sweet finish. Unfortunately there are plastic notes in the taste as well. 201214

Cloudy brownish color with an ok tan head. Ok lacing. Powerful aroma. Bready, burnt caramel and some chocolate. Ok body. Tad sweet and an ok bitterness. Average carbonation. Powerful flavor with loads of stuff I do not fancy to much. Leather, burnt malt, wood and bready. Must be a decent ale for those who like stuff like this.
