What better way to honor Juneteenth than with the return of Say It Loud — a Brown IPA brewed by brewers Greg and Nigel. Using the same base recipe as years past, they've now refined it to perfection.

This year’s batch is smooth and drinkable, with clean bitterness, bright citrus, and a touch of caramel. Expect juicy aromatics with subtle toasty, nutty notes. It pours a deep brown with a ruby-red glow.

Bright amber, medium head, tart. Tart. Dude it missed hard. Why is there tartness in this beer? This does not work on any level.

On tap at Aslan Depot, pours a clear amber brown with a small beige head. Aroma has a lot of murky hopburn — strange to detect this in a clear, dark IPA — with lots of earthiness. Flavour doesn't seem well-dialed in at all: earthy hops, some sludgy notes, very flimsy malts. This tastes like a low effort, low skill dark IPA made by someone who has no idea what they're doing. Not good.
