Dull colour, and hazy. Medium head. On the nose, it's sort of a spicy hop, herbal, assertive, some sulphur. On the palate, the lesser elements seem to really stand out. Lowish bitterness and muddled malts for an IPA - I'm thinking fermentation wasn't spot on here. It just doesn't even look like it should, and with such a murky malt character that's got to be it. Especially with the diacetyl. Oh, yeah, shit. Sink.

On tap at Brassneck, pours a lightly hazy bright golden with a medium white head. Aroma brings out bright piney hops, some citrus, bready malt, and then unfortunately diacetyl that shows itself more as it warms -- though it's not egregious. Flavour is bright and biting, with lots of bitter, piney and citrusy hops, a hint of hop tang (that'd be the Motueka, I suppose), with a thin, crisp biscuity malt base. The diacetyl then kicks in and ruins this for me, especially as it warms -- I had to dump this. Sad.
