The acknowledged delights of Marcus Aurelius are further enhanced with the addition of Port from our friends at Quinta de la Rosa. Velvety, rich and powerful, this is a special release for Cambridge Beer Festival.

Gravity cask at the Cambridge Beer Festival 2015. Bordering on black, somewhat flat save a few bubbles hither and thither. It’s hard to get past the port in the aroma. A bit of your common stout scents - coffee and liquorice with a hint of slate - can be detected under the port-laden intensity. Taste is bittersweet, cautiously fruity and recklessly alcoholic. Smoother mouthfeel than the basic version. The port addition is fun but not necessarily better.
