Cask at the Black Bull, Haltwhistle. Dark gold/light copper with a small white head. Hoppy peach and pine aroma. The initial taste, with a bit of meaty savoury followed by an intense fruity bitterness, is indeed a bit different from what I was expecting. However this is an incredibly nuanced beer with bags of character for the ABV.
