Handpull cask at the Cambridge Brewhouse. Very, very dark brown with a small ring of cream-coloured head. Vanilla bean is fairly strong in the nose, although there’s also a hint of the promised chocolate. More fresh vanilla in the taste, with a rounding bitter hop that keeps it from turning overly sweet. A generous touch of sourness in the long finish. Some liquorice, smoke and cooking chocolate alongside French vanilla in the aftertaste. Medium body but flat on the tongue.
