Gravity cask at the Three Blind Mice bar, 2017 Cambridge Beer Festival. Reddish golden, very hazy with a touch of white film on top. Aroma consists of red liquorice with some freshly mown grass. The taste, while sweet and refreshing at first, turns surprisingly bitter and almost acrid for a moment. It’s a fleeting moment however, and the finish remains well-balanced with just enough bitterness in the aftertaste to make it last. Fruity wheat beers (and there are a lot of them at this festival!) don’t always work so well in cask. This is pretty average all in all.
