'In 1817 my great great great great great grandfather opened his brewery on Bridge Street in Northampton. This oak cask matured strong ale marks the 200th anniversary of that date. We are proud to continue the noble tradition of great British ale brewing into our third century.' Jeremy Phipps 2017

Bottle from the Blue Glass, Bedford. Was 500ml before it gushed all over the countertop so I had considerably less than that. Cress, oak, sarsaparilla and some astringency in the aftertaste. Sweet taste at first but this turns bitter and medicinal closer to the finish with a herby vegetal note. Long vegetal finish. Not the greatest - has a feel of home brew about it - but it certainly hits the spot on a Saturday night.
