2024 GABF BRONZE – BELGIAN-STYLE SOUR ALE
For this batch of Intinction, we added Petite Sirah grapes to our spontaneous fermented beer Sonambic which had aged in a foeder for two years. This complex beer has rich fruity notes and a medium tannic contribution from the grapes along with a clean tart finish. Intinction is refermented in the bottle creating a natural carbonation and a small layer of yeast sediment.
Tasting Notes: Rich Fruit | Red Wine | Tart
ABV: 10.6%

On tap at Belmont Station Bier Cafe, pours a clear deep dark purple with a small pink head. Aroma has a nice red wine grape skin character, plenty of bugs, and some jammy red fruits. Flavour is buggy and vinous, with lots of complex bugs, red grape skins, grape must, and oak. Real great use of the grapes. Excellent.

Brownish-red, no head, tart, the syrah lends a lot, but there’s really a bit of butter here, some acetic notes…this one looks good going up but ends up an airball.
