Bottle, about 3 years old. Orange-brown, hazy, with a thick, low head. Nutty caramel nose, oranges. Soft, semi-sweet, toffee, citrus, toast. Very silky, smooth body.

Ise Kadoya American Style Barleywine 11% Biggest typhoon in Japanese history heading towards us has brought rain and cool weather so it’s made me want something darker and maltier. Rich malty aroma with some bright citrus notes, full bodied with rounded soft carbonation. The taste is midway between American and English barleywine I’d say. Nice fruity elements, hints of tobacco and caramel. Really hitting the spot and it completely hides the ABV.
