Poured up on tap at GABF 2012 with a clear copper body that supports a light tan head of foam. The aroma is boozy and bourbon (could that be right, was this just oaked or barrel aged?) heading into spicy oak and some fruity esters. At the end of the draw the booze hits with some modestly harsh heat to the snoot. The taste seems similar as I get dark fruity ester sweetness mixing with sugary sweetened booze and then a bit of spicy oak notes midway and into the finish that helps pull this up with a smattering of balance. This doesn’t work too well for me as it is a bit disjointed.

On tap at GABF 2012. A cloudy reddish amber color with a small white head. A big nose of sweet candies, caramel and oak. The flavor is mellowed by the oak with low heat, big caramel, dustiness, light fruit (strawberries), some oak. Good.

Sample at GABF 10/11/2012, thanks to Bluemeow76 for assistance with note-taking. Dark amber pour with a medium thin off-white head and stringy lace. Aroma of malt and oak. Full-bodied with flavors of caramel malt, oak and vanilla. The finish is malty up front with a woody hops aftertaste. Pretty good overall.
