22oz waxed bomber pours with a nice and dark body supporting a full one inch mocha colored head of foam. The aroma is big and rich with a mix of caramel, toffee and coconut that creates an interesting sensation. Behind those bruising notes are mild levels of economically priced bourbon as well as a spicy oak twang. The taste is similar with candy like kettle caramelization mixing with barrel notes like coconut, bourbon and a bit of spicy oak. Beneath the sweetness and barrel notes are mild dark fruity esters and a hint of chocolate. I’m liking this even though parts of the taste and aroma don’t seem to go together too well.
