Called XXX Red at 9.2% at the Sun Up brewpub. Poured up on tap with clear deep amber body with a thin dirty white head. The aroma offers up vibrant drippy ripe plum and cherry esteriness as well as some sweet malts, a dash of caramel and enough booze to let you know this is a sipper. The taste is rich and sweet with malts and sweet dark fruity ester goodness coming from prunes, cherries and dates. To midway both booze and a pine like hoppy bitterness come to the surface and take a bite out of the sweet notes. This is one tasty sipper.
