On tap at Iron Springs brewpub during SF Beer Week, what a week! It pours nice and dark with tan head. The aroma is mildly tart and acidic with soured or tart cherries and a red wine like tannin tart sensation. In the background are hints of dark roasted malts and molasses. The taste has pretty full firm red wine tartness and tart cherries notes as well as soft sweet smooth bourbon and very little else. Well there really isn’t much in the way of the base beer going on here.
