Curious stout, almost leaning into black IPA territory with the resinous bitterness on the back end. Starts with a moderate note of bitter cocoa, cascara, and anise, followed by milk chocolate and black cherry, leading to a firm, piney, almost herbaceous finish. Cold fermentation ups the fruitiness, but in a good way. Unique, like an amped-up classic American stout. Good beer.
