Surprisingly heavy on the malt, even for a malt-forward style like a maibock. Caramel, toasted bread, cocoa, and sweet grain, plus a little wort funkiness, all land on the front end, while the back gains a saccharine bitterness mixed with traces of cantaloupe, citrus, and flowers. Finishes with a lingering floral bitter streak. Just a big, clunky, American maibock. Not terrible, but lacks nuance.
