Named after the motto of House Targaryen, Fire and Blood is inspired by Daenerys Targaryen and her three dragons, Drogon, Rhaegal and Viserion. To celebrate the rebirth of dragons, three different labels were created by the Game of Thrones visual effects specialists, each depicting one of Daenerys' feared dragons. Randomly distributed amongst the cases, each case will contain all three bottles.
Fire and Blood has a deep, dark red hue with a persistent, creamy off-white head. Aromas of ripe fruit, raisins, malt and slight spice, followed by a slightly floral and spicy hop character. A fruity, sweetish malt taste gives way to faint drying provided by the hops and rye. Underlying flavors of raisin and prune from the ancho chilies give way to a balanced malty and spicy finish.
Malt: Pilsner, Cara-60, Midnight Wheat, flaked rye and spelt
Hops: CTZ, Styrian Golding, German Tettnang
Spices: Ancho Chilies
Pair with pastrami, jerk chicken, pulled pork, Mexican cuisine (such as burritos), and sharp cheddar and pepper jack cheeses.

C&C 750 mL bottle from Whole Foods Charlottesville. Pours a very dark brown color with a large foamy tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of peppers, earth, nuts,raisin, caramel. The taste is earth, smoke, raisin, fruity peppers, caramel. Medium bodied, spritzy carbonation, just a faint bit of heat from the peppers. Could be a little brighter, but a solid beer.

Location: 750 ml bottle from Central Market, 4/7/14, I'm a day late, but I'm drinking this while I watch the Season 4 premiere
Aroma: The nose has some rye malts, nutty notes, spice, and a good amount of fruit
Appearance: It pours a murky brownish-orange color with an average, fizzy beige head
Flavor: The taste is much the same, lightly sweet, with a rye malt flavor, and some light-mid spice
Palate: The body is medium, it has a tingly, somewhat fizzy feel, and a dry, peppery finish
Overall Impression: Finally watching this premiere after UConn's win. This one is fairly balanced and solidly made, but it isn't an amazing beer. Overall though, I thought it was pretty good. It remains nicely balanced, and the pepper, which mostly come through in the end palate, isn't overpowering.

Bottle shared with friends for premiere at my place. Pours deep red with nose of dark fruits and yeast. Tastes of plums, caramel, rye bread, prunes, vegetal, leather, and only hint of chili spice. Overall a decent offering.

750 ml bottle poured into an Ommegang Game of Thrones tulip/goblet. Pours a dark ruby/amber brown with 3 fingers of pillowing off-white head. Decent lacing. Aromas of caramel, sweet malt, dark fruit. Tasting notes of caramel, sweet dark fruit, sweet malt, biscuit, cloves, spices. Maybe some light peppery notes. Medium body with a dry finish. Light mouthfeel, medium carbonation. Solid red ale with a Belgian twist.
