Honestly pretty solid and smooth - a lot better than the reputation that comes with the name.

Draft at Saranac brewpub. Unmemorable. About as generic a lager as you'll find. Clear golden, disappearing head. Grainy, bready, dull. Like they're not even trying.
Gold pour. Thick foamy head. Nose is bread and corn. Bread, corn, and hint of honey flavor. Bread palate.

Pretty trashy lager. Tastes a little like paint thinner. Golden pour. Cloying finish. Can at a dive bar.

Crystal clear coloured body with a large three centimetre tall just off-white head that stays afloat for a long time. Aroma of very subdued grass and hay notes with a dry apple and light grainy note with a dash of alcohol and caster sugar. Light-bodied; Deep robust biscuity malts up front with a soft peach and apple flavour, some grain and a dash of more herbal notes, but still no real hops noticeable, but some light alcohol and herbal finishes remain. Aftertaste is surprisingly easy-drinking with just a biscuity and light grainy note showing some softer herbal and yeast flavours with a little sweetness from caster sugar and apples with a touch of the alcohol showing through on the end, but not in a bad way. Overall, fairly nice to try - not as bad as I was expecting, but I've never heard of this and it's retro-value seemed great, especially from Upstate New York. I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Whole Foods in Pentagon City (Arlington), Virginia on 06-September-2019 for US$1,49 sampled at my house here in Washington on 29-September-2019, a few blocks away.

Can from Total Wine. Golden in colour, with a thin, white, head. Aroma of hay, sweetcorn and a trace of leafy hop. Flavour had sweet and grainy lager malts, and a short, bitter, finish. Ok for glugging.

Can. Sweet malt and a touch of hops in the nose. Pale. Sweet, slightly corny, light hops. Ok when ice cold. Worsens as it warms.
