A Belgian style dubbel, we first made this to celebrate our 2nd anniversary and every year since! Our anniversary coincides with the Winter Solstice. A tawny brown beer that is soft and malty on the palette with hints of toffee and spices.
We usually save one keg to tap on the SUMMER solstice too!

On tap at the source. Rich mahogany color with a decent tan head that persists. Rich caramel and dark dried fruits, raisin and prune with plenty of clove and earthy yeast to balance. Faint alcohol warming. Pretty tasty dubbel.

New England Bucket List Trip #235. Pours a hazy bronze with a large creamy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of bread, clove, brown sugar, banana, green banana. The taste is caramel, toffee, brown sugar, citrus, stone fruit, spice, yeast. Medium bodied, mild lingering spice, well balance.

10oz goblet at the brewery pours a clear brown with some thin, off white head. Nose has some malt, a little pumpernickel, a ton of clove, perhaps too much clove, dates, raisins, a little nail polish. Flavor has a lot of spice, just too much clove and nutmeg and banana, some bread crust, some date. Boozy finish. Drinks heavier than 7.5%.
