Bottle. It pours a clear, dark amber to brown beer under a small, off-white to beige head. The aroma is sugary and caramel-ish, with a touch of alcohol and something spiced and herbal. It’s full-bodied and warming on the palate, with a low level of carbonation. Sugary flavor with caramel and a nice bitterness. Sort of boozy. Lasting caramel-sweet finish with a bit too much warmth. Not bad this one, but too sweet and warming. 141220

Bottle 330ml @ fonefan
Pours clear amber with a small off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, brown sugar, alcohol and dried fruits. Taste is heavy sweet and light bitter with a long brown sugar, caramel and dried fruity finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat.

Bottle at home. Deep red amber with a small, but lasting off-white head. Rich aroma of dried fruit, caramel, dark sugars spice and bubblegum. Quite sweet, but not cloying, with lots of sugar and dried fruit in the flavour, some warming alcohol, and a little bitterness in the finish. I’m reminded of La Trappe quadrupel, which is a beer I quite like

330ml bottle, bryg nr.064, bought at Barley Wine in Copenhagen. Bubbly, beige head to a clear, copper-red body. Spotty lacing down the glass. Caramel-fruity nose. Flavour of jammy fruits, caramel, brown sugar and warming alcohol. Lingering mid-sweet ending. Fine bodied. Nice, however, rather too sweet after a few sips (hotel room, 26.11.2014).

Bottle, 11.0%. Alcoholic vegetable aroma. Seems OK, but smells green. Cloudy dark brown colour. Small white head. The flavour is sweet and alcoholic. Has a little vegetable to it, but not too bad. Would be a lot better after a year or two in the cellar, I am sure.

Bottle. Pours clear dark ruby with barely any head at all. Clear aroma of malt, caramel and fruit, with touches of hops. Sweetish flavour of caramel malt, with fruity notes and estery touches. Warming alcohol presence. Sweetish and sourish aftertaste, tasting well over the ABV stated on the label. Nice but not quite like made in Belgium.
