Finally screwed up the courage to drink this and free up fridge space. Once opened the green foam and bright/deep green (depending on the light) beer had me wishing I had saved it for St-Patrick’s Day. Kizakura Matcha 5% Insane green color and foam, weird herbal matcha aroma. Light bodied and very rough flavor but in the finish after taste you DO actually get matcha powder coming through that’s not bad but overall this just tastes like they dumped a ton of low grade matcha in a crappy blonde ale. Gimmicky Omiyage beer.

Can from Isetan Kyoto. Nose is lemony, bready malts, and green tea. Matcha, more precisely. Pours a deep cloudy green--no, actually it's clear, with a all, fine, greenish-white head. Not as goopy looking as the IPA version. Lighter flavor, lemony, crackery, touch of cardboard, and matcha. More beer-like than the big brother, and much less nasty as well. I almost like it. It avoids the nasty, bitter finish, the vegetal qualities, and the thick sweetness. A completely different beer. Not as interesting, but much better.
