Saison began as a pale ale brewed in the cooler, less active months in farmhouses in Wallonia, the French-speaking region of Belgium, and stored for the seasonal workers (Saisonniers) as liquid bread to drink in the summer months. The workers needed something to fill their stomachs and quenching their thirst, saison is a high carbonated refreshing drink. Farmhouse is a modern take on the classical Saison, more of everything really, more alcohol, more hops.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a cloudy golden with a dense and lively white head leaving some lacework. Nose is yeasty, spice and a little greasy. Medium body, fruity, yeasty, a little moldy with some phenols. Rather bitter finish. 290818

33cl bottle from Alko. Poured cloudy golden color with a thick white head. Spicy peppery aroma and flavor. Very high carbonation. Peppery floral, hoppy flavor. The carbonation is disturbing otherwise a nice saison, really dry finish.

Bottled 330ml (Alko web)
Slighlty hazy yellow-orange colour, good cloudy white head. Aroma has Saisonic white pepper, banana and some funkyness. Light-bodied. White pepper, grass and some tartness. Quite watery for this ABV. Lacks substance.

A murky, golden beer, a head is big and blond. Aroma has fruitness, earthyness and sourness, some spicyness. Taste has fruitness, earthyness, green herbs which are almost vegetables. Medium bodied, high carbonation.Too much of misses and thus quite a weak beer.
