Ran an den Zwickelhahn! Für die unfiltrierte Probeentnahme aus den Lagertanks hatte früher eigentlich nur der Braumeister einen passenden Schlüssel. Aber blitzgescheite Brauergesellen steckten einfach ein 2-Mark Stück, den sogenannten Zwickel, in den Schlitz und öffneten so den Hahn zum Glück. Das Zwickelbier war geboren. Zu frisch für die Flasche, gibt es heute unser naturbelassenes, würziges Lagerbier nur in Fässern. Da gehört es aber auch hin. Egal ob in der Bar auf der Schanze, in der Klause auf St. Pauli, oder im feinen Restaurant in Eppendorf. Süffig, trüb‘….und warum ist jetzt mein Glas schon wieder leer?

Van tap in Stralsund. Rustig zoetje, licht hoptonen, niet zo zompig, licht kruidig. Goede balans. Goed. (24-8-2018).

Quite nice for a lighter lager. Very full bodied for the style. Served quite warm from the brewery. Altes Madchen Hamburg Tried again. Good for the style, more body and ale-like than most, doesn’t have the muddied flavour

On tap @ Altes Mädchen, HH. Great smooth malty beginning. Refreshing with grainy components, smooth and mild. Very sessionable, round malty with caramel and a moderate bitterness.

On tap at Altes Mädchen, Hamburg. Unclear golden with a fine white head. Like a Pilsner on the nose. Nice taste, some malt, little bit apples, hop present but in the second row. Low carbonation, low bitterness. Okay.
