Brewed to 6.2% this IPA is a more typical English IPA, with sweet notes from the Maris Otter grist, offset by a lovely balance of new world hops (Chinook, Galaxy, Ekuanot, Summit & Mosaic) to give a citrus and orange zest aroma with light bitterness.

Bottle. It’s a lightly cloudy dark golden to amber colored beer topped by a small, off-white head. The aroma is piney and resiny, with caramel maltyness and some bready hints. It’s full-bodied and quite dryish on the palate, with a nice carbonation level. Rather bitter flavor with some caramel and bread. Lots of pine cones and resins too, lasting for a good while. Quite decent this one, but too malty and too bitter compared to the rest of the flavors. 140830

(Keg at Angleterre, 20140801) The beer poured deep golden and clear. Its head was small and white. Aroma had malts, caramel and fruitiness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, malts, molasses, pine and bitterness. Aftertaste had malts, molasses and bitterness. A rather musty brew.
