This darker ale has a pronounced peat smoke aroma. The palate is more balanced, but definitely sticks to a fair amount of peat, backed by slightly sweet caramel malt notes. There is a decent amount of malt complexity, which helps to make this beer a better than average example.

(tap) clear rich orange brown amber colour with a small brown head; aromas of treacle, smoke (guess that peated malt comes through); flavour predominantly dry, bit of sourness, mineral/earthy; slightly creamy palate; interesting take on the style
