On tap at the brewery. Nitro. Pours a pure black color with a medium tan head. The flavor is caramel, earth a bit of toast. The flavor is more toasted malts, sweet caramel, light metal. Pretty nice. A simple beer in a style I like.

nitro tap at the brewpub - Pours dark brown to black with a moderate tan head. It smells like roasted malt and licorice. The latter seemed odd and no one else has mentioned it, so maybe it was just me. I thought the roasty flavor had some licorice notes too. This beer is awfully thin and watery for a stout. It has a mild hops finish. Not bad.
