Draft pint, Aug. 24, ’08. Nice pale ale color, with a thin head and a bit of haze. Smell is malty with a bit of sourness here and there. But my first sip brings in a surprising load of English bitter hops, backing up the claim on the beer list and then some. It builds up a hop burn almost to the level of an IPA, nearly overwhelming the decent malt backbone. Even gains a little of the American hop citrus and pine toward the end. Nice surprise to find at a little-frequented brewpub like this.
