(Bottle) Dark brown colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, slightly roasted nose with notes of prunes, liquorice, burnt sugar, dried apricots, caramel, some wood and vanilla. Malty, roasted taste with prunes, liquorice, coffee, dried apricots, molasses, fudge, ripe pears, vanilla, a touch of oak wood and a warming finish with a balanced spicy bitterness. More than medium body, quite sweet. Tasty and well balanced. Nice one.

On tap at Akkurat, vintage 2014. Hazy amber with a medium head. Sweet with caramel, dried fruit, hints of vanilla and some oak. The body was medium and the finish with warming alcohol.

330ml bottle from a black box bought at Systembolaget Storheden, Luleå in May 2014. Stored in my cellar and shared with Finn and djoeye at a local drinking session. Amber-reddish coloured body topped by a filmy layer. Smell of bourbon and dried fruits. Plums and raisin to the taste buds joined by oak and caramel on a backbone of bourbon. Lingering aftertaste with integrated alcohol. Oily palate. Well bodied. Good drinking (Tromsø 01.02.2016).

Flaske 330ml spandert av Rune. Delt med ham og djoeye i WCveien 1 Feb 15. Dyprød. Litt partikler. Dempet behagelig fruktaroma. Myk munnfølelse. Smaken karamell. Balansert. Litt tørr etter hvert. Alkoholvarme i avslutninga.

Flaska från SB ca 2 år gammal. Mahognyfärgad, lågt skum. Fin doft med bourbonnyanser, fudge, vanilj, kakao, fat. Relativt lätt kropp för styrkan, kanske lite platt och relativt torr, levererar inte riktigt i paritet till doften men ändå bra. Torr lite kryddig eftersmak med trä, aska och kakao. Snygg.

Reddish brown colour, white head. Malty aroma, caramel, bourbon, vanilla. Sweet flavour, bourbon, whisky, malts, marmalade. Malty finish, caramel.

Bottle(RBESG 2014): Reddish-amber coloured, hazy, small and stable off-white foamy layer; port, dried fruits, raisins, wood and alc in the nose; moderate sweet flavour; warming alcohol and some tannine in the sweet and also bitter finish. Not very exciting, but pretty good…

Bottled, from Systembolaget. Hazy mahogany colour, small head. Light oaky caramel and vanilla aroma. Sweet with medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Caramel and fudge, pear and white pepper. Warming peppery finish.

Bottle 330ml. [ As Shepherd Neame Barley Wine ].Clear medium amber orange color with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, fully diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, sweet malt, alcohol - bourbon, light fruity - dried fruit. Flavour is moderate to light heavy sweet with a long duration, sweet malt, dried fruit, alcohol. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat, finish feel is light alcoholic. [20140517]
