Bottle sent by Shiner for my comment. When poured, it has a slightly more amber body than a typical lager. A single finger layer of foam that settles in just a minute or so. The smell is kind of a mix of hops, with some pine under the cap. The taste is like an IPA, with a clear intent to American hops, but not much of a slap in the face. Pine and resin hit the forefront, but then there’s also a note of rose, then a thread of pineapple. Some bitterness comes more from fresh oak than from hops, it seems. Which makes it leave more of an aftertaste than hops by themselves. The slightly elevated alcohol is noticed, too, in the form of a slight warming.
