8.5% abv. Nose is a bit smoky and carries a hint of coffee. Blackish -brown with thin ring of foam that clings to the side like used motor oil. Taste is actually a bit more fruity or sweet than Scotch ales I’ve known. Also less peaty, with lets a lot more roasty malt take the fore. Happily viscous, but not sticky. Most Scotch ales I’ve had have been from rather old bottles, and whether or not this is fully up to style, it’s great to experience fresh.
