Tap at Emmett's Downers Grove. Pretty tall glass for a barley wine. Deep brown with a thin layer of brown foam. Nice nose of alcohol and malts. Wants to give impression of chocolate roast malt, but it's a rather light taste for that. Since I'm so used to strong BA Stouts, the lighter mouthfeel here is kind of a surprise. Maybe it detracts a little bit. Even could be said to be a bit watery. Some vanilla, maybe a bit of cinnamon, and a slight roast that comes up slowly.
