Brewed in collaboration with our friends at Soul Mega, this 9% Imperial Stout was ion oak soaked in PX Dark Rum from Cotton and Reed. Carafa III along with a blend of Crystal malts and some flaked oats come together to lay down a robust malt backbone, with notes of dark and sweet chocolate, roast-y coffee, slight tobacco, and chewy toffee dominating the flavor. Layered on top of that is some dark fruit notes, molasses, and vanilla from the wood and rum. Hopped in the kettle with Cascade and African Queen hops at the end of boil to balance out the full malt body.
