This beer has been on hiatus for a bit... ya know it gets no respect. Hopped with Chinook, Nelson Sauvin, Simcoe, Citra and Mosaic this beer has a super potent aroma with an incredibly bright, tangy fruitiness. The flavor is smooth with a mouth-coating lightly bitter juiciness.

The beer is gold and clear. It shines prettily in the light. The small white head fades fairly quickly. The liquid has some heft to it. Not much lacing or anything. The aroma is tangerines and pineapples with a bit of lime peel and pine. Some raspberry, grape and melon. There’s a pretty good dose of simple, honey-ish malt sweetness to the beer, but I’ve had a lot of lower abv hoppy stuff (mostly from Cellarmaker) recently that it might just be a change in my perceptions. It’s still juicy and oozing with hops. The taste is medium sweet with lots of hop flavor and mild to moderate bitterness for the abv. Finishes a bit sweet for me, but I do appreciate all of the citrus and tropical fruit hoppiness. Fairly oily with hops. Fuller than the brewery’s lighter hoppy offerings but still relatively light on the palate for the strength and style. The hoppy aftertaste lingers for some time. Well made and very tasty. It’s an excellent DIPA bursting with big, fruity hops.

Sample at Good Karma in San Jose. Hazy amber-gold color with a medium off-white head that dissipates steadily. Partial rings of lacing. Aroma of tropical fruit, pine and hops. Medium body with a piney hops character and notes of sweet citrus fruits and malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a resiny hops aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Tap. Pours crystal clear pale amber, medium white head, nice lacing. Light aroma, grapefruit, buttery Passionfruit, peach. Flavor similar, light sweet, light plus bitter, melon, a bit if dank leaves. Medium body, lingering bitter finish.
