Queen of the Waves is an alternative collaboration between us and our amazing friends at Stepping Stone.
A unique fusion of our Red Wedding and their Respite, aged in Stauning Whiskey casks for 13 months. A beautiful stout with complex aromas of toasted malt, chocolate, red wine and whisky.

Bottle 50 cl. Pours jet black with a tiny, rough, brownish head. Fatty curtains in the glass. Rich, sweet roast aroma, brownies even with a vague hint of peat and butter, wauw - that's unclean. Surprisingly only a medium body, some licorice and roast with some oak and a slight tartness from the red wine. Not overly warming finish. I believe this is one of those cases where the base beer is quite a lot better than the barrel variant. 070525

Sample, thanks fonefan! Black, small head. Aroma of soy sauce, seaweed, peat and red wine. Sweet with full body and rounded mouthfeel. Oaky red wine, peaty whisky, licorice, soy sauce and caramel. Mid bitter finish.

(thanks fonefan!). Pitch black colour, small beigeish brown head. Aroma is inky, some red wine barrels, peat, leather and mild metallic tones with some alcohol sweetness. Flavour is kind of follows the pattern of the aroma. Red wine and peat makes a surprisingly ok thing in the flavour, but is just horrid in the aroma. Not smooth, but still a somewhat good sipper.
