Malefactus is our rich and viscous Imperial Stout. It pours pitch black in color with a beautiful caramel colored head. Aromas of espresso & dark chocolate greet the nose, while a big velvety body from a touch of wheat gives way to a balanced finish.

Can from trade with Steve. Opaque dark brown with light sparkle, thin head with fair retention, trace lacing. Aroma is strong toffee, molasses, cacao nibs, roasted earthy malts bordering on coffee. Taste follows aroma along with initial wheat and late mineral. Smooth, frothy texture, soft carbonation, strong finish as taste. Nice non-adjuncted imperial stout.

Undated can drunk 3/20/25.
Clear, charred-dark-chestnut. Large, greyish-tan head, well-retained.
Nutty, low roasted malts with cacao-like chocolate notes and mineral. Blandness from wheat evens things out and keeps it nutty and restrained. No alcohol, not much, if any, sugar and little/no hops.
Oh wow, that's nice and bright with rich acidity and malt balancing one another and achieving a very flavorful, balanced, rich character with a soft, malty, supple texture. Light licorice, caramel, dark chocolate and moderate-to-light roast. Good attenuation, tending just on the sweet side, but rich, soft and comforting as a result. Clean and no alcohol noted.

I got this 12 oz can from Half Time, main connection these days. A snifter ready and waiting, I pull the tab on the can and tilt. A motor oil quality pour, black and rich in color with a steadfast top of heavy tan foam. The scent is lightly chocolate, berries and grain, no real outbreak, just to say. The taste makes up for it somewhat, dark chocolate, coffee, strawberries, a touch of char and wheat bread. Properly dense for a proper imperial stout I have to say. In total, a good imperial stout, coffee and roast are not my thing.
