Fare thee well Josh tasting at Bruce’s. Light haze on this amber beer, small pale cream coloured head. Palate is smooty and dry. Light fine carbonation. Bittersweet caramel malt. Piney hops, mildly bitter. Cucumber or something of that ilk! Bittersweet dry finish. Odd and not the Cats finest moment.

Bottle, acquired from 4:20, split at Josh’s Farewell Fling, 20/02/14. Very lightly hazed golden amber with a moderate off white covering. Nose is bready malts, orchard fruit, apple core, light spice, straw, musty notes. Taste comprises biscuit tones, sharp apple, bready malts, fruit pangs, light sugar. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close. From a run of 3 mediocre Rev Cat offerings (Sorry guys!) this was the weakest!

Bottle shared in London for Josh’s sake. Thanks to Colin. Pours clear, shiny gold with a fluffy white head. Meaty nose, some toffee, dried berries. Medium sweet flavor with toasted doughy bread, butterscotch, honey, toffee, dates. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Sugary finish, some toffee, more meat and butterscotch, lightly toasted bread, a bit of pine and earth. So so.

330ml bottle from Impexbeer
SELL BY 30 05 15 - Pours dark copper colored with a small bubbly head. Aroma of bready malts, some grassy hops, grainy notes and hints of earthy notes. Taste is malty, crisp, bready and slightly grainy with notes of grass and earthy notes. Finish is malty, bready and smooth with hints of grain and sweet syrup. Okay, quite balanced doppelbock.
