Keg at the Coronado tasting room, Coronado Island SD, 20/04/14. Murky yellow orange with a moderate off white swirl and edgework. Nose is orange squash, light spice, hint of pine, grapefruit, mandarin. Taste comprises floral hops, orange squash, tangerine, straw, light toast. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with light hop bitterness. So so IPA, tasty and refreshing in some senses but a little 1D and over orangey, lacks a hoppy punch.

On tap at BevX360, pours a hazy pale golden with a small white head. Aroma and flavour is very sweet and medicinal, with lots of cough syrup, sweet corn and stale bread. Not well-balanced or well-constructed in any way. Quite poor.

Bottle - pine and lime, very pungent. Clear gold with a rich head. Lime and grapefruit are sweet and I think it’s a bit flat. If it tasted as good as it looked or smelled we would have a winner. Unfortunately it’s not the case.

Draught @ Haket. Pours slightly clear golden with a small frothy white head that leaves a small lacing on the glass while dissipating. Smell is subtle, tiny sweet, tiny malty and tiny herbal with white bread, crackers, cereal, grass, lemon balm, wood, lemon zest, orange zest, soil and hints of butterscotch. Taste is slightly bitter and tiny malty with white bread, oatmeal cookies, grass, pine needles, grapefruit rinds, lemon zest, orange zest, lemon balm, lime zest, wood, cereals and hints of biscuits and green peas. Mouthfeel is crisp, slightly astringent and light to medium bodied. Finish is bitter with crackers, white bread, biscuits, lemon zest, orange zest, lime zest, pine needles, grass, lemon balm and hints of butterscotch. Bit too harsh...

Draft at Galbraiths in Auckland. Sort of a test, to see if the IPAs survive the trip. Cloudy yellow orange color, thick white head with good retention and solid lacing. Aroma of bright orange, pineapple, lemon. Taste is orange infused rising white bread dough, spices. Very nice. Staff says it takes them about a month to get this, and I think it survived quite nicely.

Light golden color. Very heady nose. Mouth is full, spicy chops with tons of Mary J notes. Well balanced. Big backbone. Big bad and awesome. Very good balanced IPA.

22oz bomber pours with a crystal clear deep gold body that supports a slightly wispy dirty white head of foam. The aroma is full of flowery floral hops and lavender . . . I mean loads and loads of perfume counter floral notes. I wish I enjoyed floral and flowery notes more than I do cause this would be spot on. Far behind the flower pedals I get snippets of citrus hops and sugary malts. The taste is similar with vibrant floral and lavender flower like notes that go from somewhat bitter to full of flavor and to a malt sweetened flavor onslaught. Again, floral and flowers and such really don’t do it for me and this beer is a bit on the thin side to boot. Aside from that it is pretty solid. Like the nose well off in the background and around the periphery of the flavor I get malt sweetened citrus hops. In the end this is just too floral and flowery for me.

On draught at Yard House in Scottsdale. This beer is a clear pale golden color with a thin white head that evaporates quickly to an outer ring. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus, hops and a bit of spice. Light to medium body with flavors of citrusy hops, herbs and sweet malt. The finish is mildly bitter with a short hoppy aftertaste. Decent overall.
