16 oz. can. Black, with a medium, rocky, brown head. The nose is light coffee, walnut, black pepper, cloves, caraway, and spelt. Sweet and malty, with a light, sticky bitterness. Light to medium, with a sticky, biting palate. This is a nice and roasty lager, with a lot of character.

10 oz wine glass half pour draft at Outer Range Brewing in Frisco, Colorado. The pour is an opaque black brown with a tan head that leaves behind pretty lace. The aroma is bright roast chocolate malt, with great earth and mineral underneath. The taste is a nice soft roast, with dark chocolate to the finish and lingering mineral. The palate is light bodied with active carbonation and crisp clean finish. Crazy drinkable Schwarzbier.
