Goblet / tulip type glass draft at the brewpub in Martin City, Missouri. The pour is an opaque dark brown with a one inch light khaki head. Nice lace on the glass. The aroma is herbal yeast esters, roast malt, and a bit of spice. The taste is the roast malt, pine hop, grass and herbal yeast notes then finishes with a dry char. The palate is medium to light bodied with a dry clean char finish. I have really enjoyed these “Black Saisons” Martin City has done, unique flavor combination and cleanly executed.
