Cask draft at the Stone World Bistro in Escondido, California. The pour is hazed orange golden, with a small frothy tan head. The aroma has a ton going on, the Red Wine is immediate, followed close behind by the citrus of the lime, and the sweet fruit of the Raspberries and Starfruit. Surrounding these aromas is the Belgian yeast and floral hop of the base beer. The taste also features quite a bit going on, mix a mix of the Red Wine, tart Raspberry, citrus of the Key Lime and the bittersweet chocolate of the Cocoa nibs comes out (this had not been noticeable in the nose). As the beer warms the tannins of the Red Wine and the grass floral Belgian spice yeast feature prominently. The flavors interact fine with each other, though there may be just touch much going on with this one, there really is no subtlety whatsoever. The palate is medium bodied, soft cask carbonation, and the lingering Red Wine and Belgian yeast finish. Interesting
