12 oz goblet draft at the brewpub in San Antonio, Texas. Sold as their Double IPA (Hopothesis A) with Brett. Appearance is a slightly hazed golden copper with a minimal off white head. Aroma is big immediate Brett, along with lots of pine and resin hops. Some clove is present in the back. Big, somewhat disjointed nose, but interesting. Taste is dry mineral barnyard earthiness right away, then a blast of resin, citrus peel hops, followed by a vegetal taste and finishing with a shot of alcohol heat. The taste is pretty brash on this one, even more disjointed than the nose. Palate is thin to medium, picks up to medium bodied as it warms. Lightly carbonated, and a hot alcohol finish. Fun experiment, but quite unrefined (though I am sure this is desired and intended by the brewers).
