To mark 1,000 years since King Canute became the first King of England, the brewery has come up with a new recipe which will be available in pubs and bars in Knutsford and further afield. The beer is low-strength, but has been described as a ‘beautifully full-flavoured’ beer that Gregg Sawyer, head brewer at Tatton Brewery has been ‘keen to brew for some time.’ “Knutty King is dark with an elegant nuttiness and refined chocolate flavours underscored by a mild bitterness, making a beer fit for royalty and peasants alike,” said Gregg. “Our brewing team are dead chuffed with the beer we’ve developed here, and we’re delighted to be releasing it to coincide with this regal Knutsford anniversary.”

Stockport Beet Festival 2016. Very dark clear red coloured ale. It’s nuttiness dominates, but is slightly thin in its texture. It’s a little milder in its nose, but easy-drinking and appealing in the main.
