Cask @ Molly House, Manchester. Clear golden with a creamy-smooth head. Good looking, slightly bland hoppy but flavoursome enough.

Cask at Crewe Dog, Crewe. Pours a golden yellow with no head whatsoever. The aroma is slightly sweet with some hints of malts. In the mouth it’s hops (a mix of traditional and floral) that catch the attention first – though they are by no means overwhelming. Following behind are berry fruits, and hints of pine, mango and butterscotch. Finish is dry and slightly sticky. It’s OK – just about
