Draught at Die Weisse, Salzburg.
Dark brown body, with a big, creamy, lacing, beige head.
Aroma of banana cake, bread, toast, some chocolate, some dried fruits.
Tastes quite similar, with more of the chocolate and cocoa, even subtle coffee.
Medium, slick mouthfeel, with a lively carbonation.
Finishes smooth, medium sweet, a bit roasty-dry, bready, toasty, with ripe banana, cocoa.
Very nice. Smooth and diverse, with sweet banana notes and lovely dark chocolate and toast notes from the dark malts. Very quaffable stuff, great style example and one of my favourite beers from this brewery. --- Beer aliased from original tick of Fastenweisse on 17 Mar 2015 at 17:52 - Score: Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 7. Original review text: Draught at Die Weisse brewpub.
Deep brownish, cloudy body, with a big, creamy, lacing, beige head.
Aroma of bread, marzipan, ripe banana, dried fruits, subtle hops.
Taste follows this pretty much.
Medium, slick moutheel, with an average carbonation.
Finishes smooth, bready, sweet malty, slightly hoppy.
Very nice, quaffable Dunkelweizen. The marzipan like malt notes are really enjoyable, but not too dominant, so that it doesn’t get too sweet and always easy to drink. One of the better beers of this style I’ve had.
